La columnista Kathleen Parker, conocida conservadora, escribió hace unos días una columna criticando a Sarah Palin, se tituló The Palin Problem

Palin's recent interviews with Charles Gibson, Sean Hannity and now Katie Couric have all revealed an attractive, earnest, confident candidate. Who Is Clearly Out Of Her League....
McCain can't repudiate his choice of running mate. He not only risks the wrath of the GOP's unforgiving base, but he invites others to second-guess his executive decision-making ability. Barack Obama faces the same problem with Biden.
Only Palin can save McCain, her party and the country she loves. She can bow out for personal reasons, perhaps because she wants to spend more time with her newborn. No one would criticize a mother who puts her family first.

Hoy escribe The Omen In My Mail, explicando porqué considera que Palin está jugando fuera de su liga, y que nada tiene que ver ser conservadora y mujer, con no apoyar a una mujer conservadora que no tiene las credenciales (ni la coherencia) para representar a su país y advierte de la peligrosa división que hay en su país.

"Some of my usual readers feel betrayed because I previously have written favorably of Palin. By changing my mind and saying so, I am viewed as a traitor to the Republican Party -- not a "true" conservative.
Obviously, I'm not employed by the GOP. If I were, the party is seriously in arrears. But what is a true conservative? One who doesn't think or question and who marches in lock step with The Party?
The emotional pitch of many comments suggests an overinvestment in Palin as "one of us."
Palin's fans say they like her specifically because she's an outsider, not part of the Washington club. When she flubs during interviews, they identify with that, too. "You see the lack of polish, we applaud it," one reader wrote.
Of course, there's a difference between a lack of polish and a lack of coherence. Some of Palin's interview responses can't even be critiqued on their merits because they're so nonsensical. But even that is someone else's fault, say Palin supporters. The media make her uncomfortable."

Y es que no sólamente los demócratas o independientes se sienten inseguros, irritados o preocupados por Palin, también en las filas conservadoras. Parece que demócratas y republicanos pueden ponerse de acuerdo en una cosa, no no es en el plan de rescate financiero, es en la incapacidad de Palin y el peligro que implica si llegase a aplicar la enmienda 25 de la Constitución.
